What subjects do you offer?
What subjects do you offer?
We offer Maths and English tuition for students in Years 4 to 11, including SATs and GCSE preparation. We are even approved to provide Functional Skills qualifications which are taught and tested on site. These are perfect if your child has failed to achieve the level they require in GCSE Maths or English and needs a Level 2 pass for an apprenticeship or their next steps.
How much is tuition?
Our face to face, small group tuition is just £14 per session, paid monthly in advance.
In addition, we offer 10-week booster courses in English and Maths which inlcudes 2 sessions per week, for £250. That's just £12.50 per hour and comes with a progress guarantee!
Do you offer 1:1 tuition?
No, at LRL Tuition, we do not offer 1:1 tuition. This is because it is not an affordable option for most children and families, and also does not significantly improve outcomes vs our small group model. Educational research by the Education Endowment Foundation shows that there is limited additional progress made in 1:1 sessions, but the costs would be nearly quadrupled. We want to offer the most cost effective, high impact, solution to families so that we can support as many of the most deserving people as we can!
How many students are in each group?
We have groups 4-6 students, per tutor. However, we do aim to have support in each group also, so that we can assist with students needs as quickly as possible.
Is everyone in the same group taught the same work?
Absolutely not! Students experience 100% personalised tuition, 1:1 style, delivered in small groups. All students follow their own pathway, their own objectives and have their own start and end points. We recognise the uniqueness of every young person and work hard to ensure that we have assessed their needs, plan to meet their needs effectively, find the right balance between support and challenge and maximise the amount of progress each young person makes!
Who delivers the sessions?
All our sessions are delivered by qualified teachers, with years of experience. Also, the work students do is planned by our quality of education lead who has extensive curriculum development and teaching and learning experience in mainstream education.
What ages do you support?
Any young person from age 8 to 16. (Year 4 upwards)
How do we secure a place?
You can contact us directly to arrange a free initial consultaiton and help us book your child into the right group for them.
Do you offer a free assessment?
YES! All students are given a free initial assessment, which we mark and produce a personalised report so you understand from day one what targets we will be working towards.
What if we miss a session?
If you give us at least 24 hours' notice, we will offer you a catch-up session, within 7 days of your original date.
Will my child get homework?
We do set, optional, homework for your children on our FREE educational platform. Your child could increase the speed with which they progress if they completes as little as 15 minutes homework per week, per subject.
How will I know my child is making progress?
We provide you with an update on progress each month, which summarises the work completed and the success criteria which has been achieved and the next steps for your child. This is completely free of charge.
Can you support children with additional needs?
Absolutely! This is an area we believe we thrive in. We have extensive experience working with children with additional needs including SEND and SEMH and do everything within our power to ensure our centre is inclusive and supportive for all children.
